What is a calibration?

Calibration Equipment

The most simple definition of calibration is the comparison of two measurements. In terms of your temperature and temperature/humidity monitoring equipment, calibration refers to confirming an instrument’s stated accuracy by comparing it to a more accurate standard and making any adjustments if necessary.

The calibration process involves exposing your instruments or its probe to extremely precise conditions and comparing the instrument’s readings to the standard’s readings. This occurs in specially designed temperature and humidity chambers that allow us to achieve those precise conditions. If the instrument needs to be adjusted, the adjustments are made via specialized software not available outside of Dickson.
