TWE/TWP Passcode Reset
This article will review the process of resetting the passcode on a TWE Logger when the user no longer remembers the passcode they set for a TWE.Edit
PreRequesites #
You will need a USB Thumb Drive formatted as FAT32, read/write enabled and not encrypted.
- Click on the link below and save the “Touchscreen 2.8.2_passcode_reset” file directly to a FAT32 formatted USB thumb drive.
- With the logger on, insert the USB thumb drive into the logger.
- Turn the logger off via the on/off button on the right side.
- Wait 10 seconds and then turn the logger back on.
- The file will load. Once complete you should be able to access the menu without having the password window open.
- Remove the USB thumb drive from the logger.
- Take the thumb drive back to your PC and remove the passcode_reset.dif file and save the full fimrware file Dickson_8intouch_V2.8.2.dif to the thumb drive.
- Click here to download new file
- Insert the jump drive. The logger will display the USB jump drive symbol in the upper right of the display when it is recognized.
- Leave the USB jump drive in the logger while you press the power button on the right side of the logger to turn it off. Once the logger is off wait 10 seconds. Turn the logger back on. The logger will load the new firmware and reboot.
- You can now set a new passcode and the logger has been successfully updated.
